Trusting a golden liquid

Trust is such a fickle thing, just like fame
Takes ages to earn, and yet
Can disappear in the blink of an eye
Humans as a race, have always distrustful been
But untrustworthy even more
Stab you in the back without even a warning war cry
Little wonder it is though,
Given that mans best friend is not man but the dog?
And yet I have more trust and faith in this golden liquid
than i do in my fellow human beings,
Some of whom would gladly sell me out,
For a few quid.
It does not lie nor does it betray.
Its upfront and clear when its served to you on the tray
People who do not understand it claim it led them astray
But that is not true,
Understand it, love it and treat it with respect
It will stay constant and ever the same
It makes no false promises and gives you no false hopes
It delivers what it says
Maybe more, but certainly no less.

As i sit here this fine night,
it all comes flooding back to me;
the memories i thought i'd forgotten,
the thoughts i thought i'd broken.
Sitting here sleepless and yet barely awake;
Not knowing what it is i'm doing
Unsure of even what it is i want or need
Conflicted and confused, my minds a whirl
my thoughts frenzied and scattered,
Swirling around uncontrollably in a whirlwind
Pulsating with energy, yet directionless and wild
They keep on going, uncontrollable and unstoppable
Keeping me awake against my will
As each new sensation brings back old memories
Further provoking the beast that lies within me
Angry, confused and unrelenting,
Packed with destructive energy, looking for an outlet
Desperately seeking direction, a way out, quickly and rapidly
For with nowhere else to go, these thoughts will keep swirling around
Increasing in force and strength, till it all implodes.
Everywhere i seek, only confusion finds me.

What is an IPhone Killer?
This phrase has been thrown around a lot by people, especially in the recent weeks with the launch of the Google branded, HTC built Nexus One. In the run up to the press conference for the launch of the phone, what with the well managed leaks of images and videos of the Nexus One, expectations ran high. Rumors flew thick and fast around the internet, of possible carriers, prices and features for the new phone.
However, when the phone was finally launched, people were eager to criticize the phone as being a letdown, a disappointment. Sure, It has a 1Ghz Snapdragon processor, by far the most powerful chip powering any phone today, has a pretty sleek and light design, and the sporting the latest version of the Android OS, but it just wasn't an IPhone Killer.
One major complaint that a lot of people seemed to have was the lack of multi-touch, although they don't realize that Apple has multi-touch technology patent locked in the US, which means that anyone wanting to use multi-touch in its phones would have to receive permission from Apple, probably on payment of a massive fee, to do so. And lets face it, you'd have to have been living under a rock for the past decade to believe that Apple would license out this technology, even for a fee. Lets face it, the IPhone is their cash cow, and they aren't gonna do anything that could take away from it.
Also, my main question is, what exactly do people mean when they say IPhone Killer? Seems to be, they want a multi-touch phone, with a huge app store, availability on all carriers, both CDMA and GSM, all for a low low price of about 300$ or so. Are these people living in a dreamworld? Yes they most certainly are.
Lets face it, until Palm manages to challenge Apple's patent on multi touch, and this is probably gonna take ages, multi touch is out. A low price of 300$? Lets face it, sure Google is a massive search company, who has so many free offerings, but it is still, in the end, a corporation which needs to make a profit, and no company is going to sell a high end smartphone at a loss. An app store bigger than Apple's? Give it time, it will happen. The iphone and app store have been out for a long time now, and that alone guarantees that they will have a far larger catalog. The Android market has far easier acceptance, and its gonna get there, just give it some time, and i say this as a Computer Science major, the android is far nicer to develop for.
And for those people who need some convincing, check out this site

In fact, even thats off by a little, because if you were to buy the Nexus one upfront, you save even more money. You want a phone which costs 300$ only? While the Nexus one isn't there yet, it will save you upwards of 500$ over the standard 2 year period, and this is with the basic plan required. Go higher up the plans, and you save even more.
Lets face it people, both the Droid Eris, and the Nexus One are capable of taking on the IPhone, they offer you the kind of freedom that those poor suckers stuck on IPhone contracts can only dream of. And they will save you a lot more money, just have some faith and patience.

So, here are some of the recipes i came up with recently.
(Mushrooms will figure prominently in this post given that i had to finish off quite a few)
Please note, i dont generally use fixed quantities because I have no fixed quantity myself.

Water Chestnuts & Mushrooms in Garlic butter

About 18-20 water chestnuts, peeled and washed
1 packet Mushrooms 12-15
Garlic, Ginger - Finely chopped, very little
Butter,
Salt, pepper, red Chilli powder

Destem the mushrooms if the stem is dry, or you can use them with the stem.
This depends on your judgement
Halve the mushrooms and keep aside
Make sure that the water chestnuts are properly peeled and no traces of the covering remain since it is tricky to get right

Heat some butter in a non stick pan till it melts completely.
Add the water chestnuts to the pan, and let them roast a little bit, till they start colouring up.
Add a little bit of the chopped ginger and garlic to the butter, along with the mushrooms.
Cover the pan and let it cook for a while. Make sure not to stir the mushrooms until they turn a proper brown or they will release all their water n shrink.
Once the mushrooms are cooked, add salt, pepper and red chilli powder to taste.
Garnish with Coriander
Serve hot/warm.

Mr. & Mrs. Psmith
If one visits Blandings Castle on a weekend char-a-banc or picnic( half a crown a head), when the premises of that great stately home of England are thrown open to the public, one is generally shown around the house, the portrait gallery and the rest of the general premises by one of the two footmen, or if the group is especially lucky, by none other a celebrity than Beach the butler himself. Certain parts of the house are such as the private living quarters are, of course, cordoned off by means of velvet ropes, while only the bravest and most daring souls, such as those who once populated the Round Table, may venture into the famed gardens at their own peril, whilst running the risk of encountering that hard headed Scotsman, Angus McAllister, who guarded his gardens more fiercely than any dragon ever guarded its treasure. Yet unmentioned by most guide books and tours, in the midst of once of the fine gardens some distance away from the house, one comes upon a large red brick structure, the home of none other than the famed Empress of Blandings, the Earl of Emsworth's prize sow. The proprietor of these grounds would have been shocked to hear someone refer to the Empress or her residence as unimportant, although as an architectural wonder, the sty is singularly unimaginative.
However, this weekend, as the public wandered throughout the hallowed halls of Blandings, there stood a figure on the railing of the sty, drooping like a wet sock and resembling a scarecrow in clothes that it should have been ashamed of. This then was Clarence, the ninth Earl of Emsworth, that amiable peer, trying to hide the latest secretary his sister Hermione had foisted upon him, for despite having moved out of Blandings, she nonetheless continued to interfere in his life, seemingly eager to make him miserable, and long distance at that.
Ok, so this is for that one in a billion chance that someone other than me actually reads this blog, and I'm pretty sure even the folks listed as co -authors don't, and ofc, there were supposed to be more but they aren't listed any more. Anyway, I haven't really posted anything for a while now here. The reason for that is quite simple, no one ever really reads this. So i don't really see much point in posting anything up here. Sure I have the same kinda thoughts, I write various things, including 2 attempts at writing books, one with a friend and now abandoned, and another one, on my own, ongoing at a tediously slow. I intend to keep at it for sure, but given that no one really ever reads this blog at all, I find it hard to keep posting on here. Sure, i'll post from time to time, but it's just getting harder to do so. I'd love to post excerpts from the first attempt at book writing on here, if anyone would actually be willing to read it. And if you do read this, please for the love of god, comment so i know that someone actually reads this
